From Consultation to Enrollment
1. Tell Us About the Student
Begin with a consultation to discuss the student’s age, grade level, courses, current challenges, goals, and preferred learning environment.
For advanced or university coursework, students can also provide the course syllabus, textbook, assignments, or other materials that help us understand the curriculum.
2. Identify the Right Support
We’ll determine what type of support would be most useful—whether that’s ongoing tutoring, AP or SAT/ACT preparation, homework support, exam preparation, academic coaching, or assistance with a specific course or project.
3. Develop a Learning Plan
Based on the student’s goals, we’ll discuss a recommended approach, including the subjects or topics to focus on, session format, frequency, and learning objectives.
For students participating in multiple Quasar programs, we can also explore connections between Learning Lab and programs such as Inventor’s Lab or the Spanish Program.
4. Begin Learning
Once the plan is established, we’ll schedule the student’s sessions and begin working toward their goals.
As the student progresses, the plan can evolve. Academic support isn’t necessarily a fixed curriculum. The focus can shift as students master concepts, encounter new challenges, or develop new interests.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What ages do you work with?
We support students from elementary school through university, with tutoring and academic support tailored to the student’s age, course level, and goals. This can range from foundational K–12 subjects and homework support to advanced high-school coursework, AP classes, and university-level subjects.
2. Do you offer AP tutoring?
Yes! We offer individualized support for AP coursework and exam preparation. Depending on the subject, this can include concept review, problem-solving, practice questions, study strategies, and preparation for AP exams.
We can also use hands-on projects and activities from Inventor’s Lab to help students explore difficult concepts in a more practical way when appropriate.
3. Can you help university students?
Yes. Academic support is available for university students as well. Support can include challenging STEM courses, mathematics, physics, science, coursework review, problem-solving, and preparation for exams or major assignments.
Because university courses vary considerably, we’ll first discuss the student’s course and goals to determine whether we can provide the appropriate support.
4. Do you provide homework support?
Yes. Homework support can range from helping students understand a difficult concept to working through practice problems and developing strategies for completing assignments independently.
Our goal isn’t simply to give students the answers. We want students to understand why the answer works and develop the skills to approach similar problems on their own.
5. Can tutoring be combined with other programs?
Absolutely! Our programs are designed to be distinct but complementary.
For example, a student preparing for AP Physics through Learning Lab might use Inventor’s Lab to build a project involving forces, energy, or electronics. Conversely, a student working on an electronics project in Inventor’s Lab may want additional mathematics or physics support through Learning Lab.
This reflects our BLEND philosophy, where different areas of learning can develop along parallel tracks and reinforce one another.
6. Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Online tutoring is available for students who prefer to learn remotely or who are unable to attend in person. Online sessions can be conducted through video conferencing and digital collaboration tools, depending on the subject and student’s needs.
For subjects that benefit from hands-on activities, we can also discuss ways to incorporate physical projects or demonstrations when appropriate.
